Meet the Maker, Amy Robinson
Being a soapmaker is so much more than being a handcrafted artisan. I am an artist. I am a poet. I’m an illustrator. I’m a visionary. I am a storyteller.
The products that I handcraft go beyond the product itself. They tell a story and that’s the part that I enjoy most about being the brand. The purpose of /ˈBÄDĒ/ encompasses so much more than the way your skin feels, or the nourishing ingredients used to make each product.
“It’s about the mental state of mind of the individual using my products.”
When I craft my products I think about the woman that’s actually going to be using them. What’s going through her mind? What kind of mood does she want to be in? It may sound far out there and even probably sensual but it’s the truth.
I think about her long day at work or with the children, her aching body, back, and feet. Then I transition to the type of experience I want this person to have after they choose my line of products.
Do you know how great a nice long hot luxurious bath feels on your skin and the mental escape it affords you when you are able to dip your body beneath steaming hot water? My line of soaps and products help make those experiences even more enriching.
“The scent, the feel, the presentation… I’m capturing three of the strongest sensory abilities the human body has and I don’t take that lightly.”
I enjoy so much being a handcrafted artisan, this is the creative being inside of me. Enjoy your products please share with me how you use them.
